Westfield Hawthorn Mall is located in
Vernon Hills, Illinois, at the intersection of Townline Road (Route 60) and
Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21). The Tri-State Tollway (I-94) to Townline Road
is the best route to take if coming from the north. If traveling from the
South, Milwaukee Avenue will proved a direct means of access as will
Townline Road if you are coming in from the East or West. It is also
possible to take Townline Road via Route 12, and in fact this will probably
be the easiest route to Hawthornie Mall for those who are Northwest of
Hawthorn Mall. The operating hours of Hawthorn Mall are from 10am to
9pm Monday through Saturday, and 11am to 6pm on Sundays. Hours at this
Westfield Hawthorn Mall are extended throughout the holiday shopping season.
With over 355 stores running the gamut from apparel to electronics; from
jewelry to books, electronics, toys, shoes, and games, Hawthorn Mall’s
selection of shopping and services is twice as large as
Old Orchard Center
in Skokie or even Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale. Of the 355
retailers there are thirty jewelry stores, 10 stores trading in home
furnishing and décor, and about 35 clothing retailers for men, women,
children, including such mid to upscale choices as Bachrach and Banana
Republic. In addition there are dozens of specialty stores such as Yankee
Candle, and the popular beauty and cosmetics retailer Crabtree & Evelyn.
Furthermore, Hawthorn Mall sports four anchor stores, Sears, Carson Pirie
Scott, JC Penney, and Marshall Fields.
Although Hawthorn Mall’s restaurant selection is not as extensive as its shopping, it does at least offer two full-service establishments for those who wish to avoid fast-food. Ruby Tuesday and John’s Garage & Filling Station are both well-known casual family-dining establishments. All other eating options are to be found in the food court where one can order anything from fast-food Cajun to burgers and fries.
